Alabama Constellation Jordan Walker PearlmanConstellation (2005)
Constellation was directed by award winning Jordan Walker-Pearlman. The movie was released in 2005 but it didn’t become a success. Most of the people who watched it hated it for the confusing story. The movie was filmed several places in USA but most importantly is Alabama, USA. I am not sure though exactly where in Alabama the filming took place. The cast features some good actors and some familiar faces like Ever Carradine, David Clennon, Rae Dawn Chong and Melissa De Sousa. I like the cast in this movie and they fill out their role very well.
The story of the movie is not so great simply because of the confusing lines the actors is given. It is also not easy to follow the story and understand what’s going on all the time. The story is about constellation chronicles the lives and loves of an African-American family in the deep South as they are forced to come to terms with a tumultuous past marked by an unrequited interracial affair.
One thing I like about this movie though is that they actually manage to show a lot of the beautiful nature and animal life you can find in Alabama. This really gives the whole film more life.

Alabama bloodlinesBloodlines (2007)
Bloodlines were directed by Stephen Durham and Masao Kingi. Stephen Durham is a new director and this was the first film he ever directed. It is easy to see that the movie has some faults because of this but overall it is still an acceptable film. The movie was released on 31 July 2007 (USA). The filming of the movie took place on many different locations but most importantly in Alabama, USA. The film also offers many good landscape and nature scenes from Alabama so it is worth to take a look at it. The cast of the movie is nothing special we have actors like Grace Johnston, Jason Padgett and Tracy Kay Wolfe. They all do an okay job here especially Grace Johnston I really like her performance in this film.
Here is some of the story: In the sticks of Kentucky a demented family of inbreds begins the process of cleaning up their blood line. They start to find out many scary and interesting things about their bloodline. The movie may sound boring but I think it was quite entertaining and fun. Especially when they end up in the creepy woods deep in Alabama. This was a creepy and interesting movie indeed.

Alabama frankenfishFrankenfish (2004)
Frankenfish was directed by Mark A.Z Dippe the same guy who produced Alexander the Great. Frankenfish was release in 2004 and was a good horror flick at the American theaters. Simon Barrett wrote the movie, this is the same guy that wrote Dead Birds a year before. Frankenfish was filmed in Alabama, USA but I cannot say exactly where in Alabama the filming took place. There are many familiar faces in the cast but no stars. Tory Kittles, K.D. Aubert, China Chow and Matthew Rauch are some of the actors you will see in this horror / action movie. The cast does and acceptable job in this low budget movie and I am surprised over China Chows performance.
The story is quite okay and it is about this huge monster fish called Frankenfish. When the body of a man is found completely destroyed in the swamps in Louisiana, the medical investigator Sam Rivers is assigned to investigate the murder. He travels with Mary (China Chow) to the location it all happen but when they get there they get lost and they have to fight for the survival versus this huge monster fish which kills everyone in his sight. The story is good and it’s a good entertainment film.

Failure to Launch is a romantic comedy with a twist directed by Tom Dey the same guy who directed Shanghai Noon with Jackie Chan. He did a good job directing this movie also and the writers Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember wrote a very funny and entertaining story. The movie was released on 15 March in 2006 and was a great hit on the American theaters. Failure to Launch was filmed many different places but most importantly in Gadsden, Alabama, USA and Leesburg, Alabama, USA. The film did not win any awards but got however 4 nominations. The cast of the film also did a great performance filling out their role. Some of the actors you will see here are Matthew McConaughey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Zooey Deschanel, Justin Bartha and Bradley Cooper. With other words there are many talented actors in this movie which makes it all extra funny.
So here is a little bit about the story: Tripp is a thirty-five years old bachelor man that still lives with his parents, Al and Sue. Al and sue then hires Paula to play Tripps girlfriend simply to convince Tripp to move out from their home. After a while Paula and Tripp falls in love with each other but then Tripp friends starts to find out that Paula was only hired by his parents to seduce him to move out. After this the relationship goes downhill but their friends never gives up.

Alabama dead birdsDead Birds (2004)
Dead Birds was directed by Alex Turner a new and unfamiliar director. The film was released in 2004 and was a good success in the American theaters. The film was written by Simon Barrett which got some decent experience writing horror scripts. The movie was filmed in Mobile, Alabama, USA but they don’t show a lot of nature in the movie which is however acceptable since it is a horror movie. The cast of the movie is rather unknown but there are a few familiar faces like Henry Thomas, Patrick Fugit, Nicki Aycox and Michael Shannon. The rest of the cast is however complete unknown but quite talented good actors.
The story takes us back to 1863, in Fairhope, Alabama a group of former Confederate soldiers robs a commerce bank and kills many clients and employees. After this they start to flee to Mexico but on the way they stop by an old house to take a rest. When weird events happen in the stormy night, they find that the dwellers are demons. The story is actually very scary even though it is not much action in the movie and it is very slow there is something very creepy about it.

Alabama Patty DukeThis film was directed by Noel Black and released on 7 January 1986 (USA). The film locations take place in Fort Benning, Georgia, USA and Fort Rucker, Alabama, USA. The cast of the movie is unfamiliar except from Patty Duke and Joseph Bologna which got the 2 main roles as Concetta Hassan and Chuck Hassan. The writers Lavina Dawson and George Yanok did a great job with the script and worked well together with director Noel Black.
The plot is about Patty Duke (Concetta Hassan) a house wife that has to take over her husbands Chuck (Joe Bologna) job after he suffers from a heart attack. The story is about how these two people manage to survive and what they make out of their life now that Chuck (Joe Bologna) got a heart attack they also got 3 children to take care of. Chuck (Joe Bologna) has also been called to serve in the army this also worries Patty Duke (Concetta Hassan). The move is a mixture of drama and romance between this couple and both Concetta Hassan and Joe Bologna does a great acting job here. The story is also based on a true story which makes it even more interesting to watch.

Star Struck was directed by Emmy nominated Jim Drake and written by Jimmy Zeilinger and Scott Posner. The film was released upon America on 30 October 1994. The movie was filmed in Alabama but I don’t know exactly where in Alabama the filming took place. The cast of the movie is rather unknown, Kirk Cameron plays in the mail role as Runner and next to him is Chelsea Noble which plays Robyn Call.
The film is a romantic comedy with a simple and easy story. The script is however poorly written and sometimes it is hard to understand what the actors really mean with their lines. Runner and Robyn was however summer camp sweethearts but she turned out to be a Hollywood superstar while Runner stayed at his farm milking his cows. His granny tells him to go to Hollywood to meet Robyn again and get her back, when he takes his granny’s advices and seeks her out Robyn does not recognize him. He gets a job as her gofer and tries to do everything so that Robyn will fall in love with him all over again. So as you see the story is pretty cheesy but quite acceptable at some points.

The movie was released on 13 November 1988 and filmed almost all over the world, most importantly in Mobile, Alabama, USA. The series was an amazing hit in USA and it won 3 Golden Globes, 1 Eddie, 1 ASC Award, 1 DGA Award, 1 Emmy, 1 PGA Hall of Fame - Television Programs and 1 People’s Choice Award. The series was also nominated for 17 other rewards. The cast offers you good actors like Robert Mitchum, Jane Seymour, Hart Bochner and Victoria Tennant.
The series plot revolves around the lives of two families, the Jastrows and the Henrys. Byron Henry and Natalie Jastrow decide to get married under the Second World War and this brings the two families close. Both of the families have family members in the war and you get to follow each person on their journey.
This series offers amazing screenplay and a beautiful and interesting story and it really shows you everything about WW2. You get to see Byron Henry’s life on a submarine in the Pacific, Warren Henry as a Naval Pilot, Natalie Jastrow as an American Jew in Europe trying to escape the Nazis and tons of other characters and stories.

Alabama Close Encounters of the Third Kind Richard Dreyfuss Steven Spielberg UFOI think this was the first movie I saw that I still remember. I remember the sound the UFO made when it tried to “talk” with the people on earth.
Off course this movie was made by Steven Spielberg and it is about the government in USA trying to cover up a landing of a UFO.
Richard Dreyfuss plays one of the people drawn to the UFO and builds a big mountain at his home similar to the one the UFO use as the landing spot. He feels he has to go and see why he did this.
Other people in the film are François Truffaut, Teri Garr and Melinda Dillon.
It was off course recorded in Alabama USA.

It is a true story based on the life about Crystal Lee Sutton.
Crystal Lee Sutton was fighting to get a union contract at J.P. Stevens Mill and she got it. But it took her and her friends 10 long years.
Sally Field plays the lead roll as Norma Rae and some other members of the cast are Beau Bridges, Ron Leibman, Pat Hingle.
The movie Norma Rae was directed Martin Ritt relased 15 June 1979 in West Germany and it won 2 Oscars.
