Dead Birds was directed by Alex Turner a new and unfamiliar director. The film was released in 2004 and was a good success in the American theaters. The film was written by Simon Barrett which got some decent experience writing horror scripts. The movie was filmed in Mobile, Alabama, USA but they don’t show a lot of nature in the movie which is however acceptable since it is a horror movie. The cast of the movie is rather unknown but there are a few familiar faces like Henry Thomas, Patrick Fugit, Nicki Aycox and Michael Shannon. The rest of the cast is however complete unknown but quite talented good actors.

The story takes us back to 1863, in Fairhope, Alabama a group of former Confederate soldiers robs a commerce bank and kills many clients and employees. After this they start to flee to Mexico but on the way they stop by an old house to take a rest. When weird events happen in the stormy night, they find that the dwellers are demons. The story is actually very scary even though it is not much action in the movie and it is very slow there is something very creepy about it.
